In ubuntu, sometimes touchpad is irritating, especially when you are typing and sudddenly touchpad screws everything you typed. You can disable tuchpad in Ubuntu by clicking System > Preferences > Mouse, click on Touchpad tab. Then Remove the check on Ennable mouse clicks with touchpad.

This will make touchpad click won’t be considered as an input in Linux.

You have to know that MP4 player cannot support DAT video files (dat video files are the video file type for VCD) so you have to convert your video file to AMV since the mp4 player supporting AMV instead of DAT video file.

Sometimes, your printing is on pending because other printing job is blocking the printing. If you face this you can delete the printing spooler queue by doing steps below:

• First, you have to halt the printer spool service, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services; right click on Print Spooler service and click Stop
• Now, open Windows Explorer then go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS\ (note: you have to change the windows drive letter if you don’t install Windows on drive C)
• Delete all files inside the PRINTERS folder. Click CTRL + A to select all files and click Delete button on your keyboard to delete all the files.
• Now, open the Services window: right click on Print Spooler and click Start to activate the service again.

This technique also works even with network printers even on other platform (eg: Samba).

First, you have to activate gprs, by doing steps below:

1. Choose Service - Data Account - GPRS
2. Choose one data account and click Edit
3. Enter account’s name
4. Enter APN
5. Enter User Name
6. Enter password
7. Auth. Type : Normal

for browsing, you could do these:

1. Choose Service - WAP
2. Choose Settings
3. Edit your profile and use the gprs connection that is already created before.
4. Return to WAP, choose Enter Address and enter your wap address, eg: http://wap.providerofyourgprs.com

To chat, you could use many softwares, eg: mig33, ymess, ymtiny or other apps that you can download from http://www.getjar.com

1. Choose Fun & Games
2. Choose Setting and make sure the Java Network is apropriate with your gprs provider.
3. Open ymtiny from java menu.
4. Enter your yahoo id and password, click sign in.
5. To show menu, click 1.

Since my computer’s uptime is extremely long (i almost keep my computer for 24 hours), i already have some data lose experiences due to unknown reasons, such as: virus, malware, spyware, etc incl the hardware failures.
