Real player 11 for Linux is already released

One of (is it only one?) RM video/audio player for Linux is Real Media Player. The latest version of real media player for Linux is real 11. It has many features for your multimedia needs, eg:

  • Support for RealAudio, RealVideo, MP3, 3GP Video, Flash, SMIL 2.0, JPEG, GIF, PNG, RealText, Ogg Vorbis, RealPix and Ogg Theora.
  • Mozilla-compatible plug-in- Enables you to watch and listen to embedded video right in your Web browser without opening RealPlayer separately.
  • New user interface, chicker and more beautiful.

To instasll the real player on your Linux, do these steps:

  1. Download the .bin file, you can download it from real.com’s download section for Real player 11. Choose your distro, if you use ubuntu, you could directly click ubuntu’s real 11 download.
  2. Right click on the file, and choose Properties
  3. Give a check on “is executable”.
  4. Run the file to install
  5. Open the folder where the file have been installed, and execute the executable file to initiate the application.

If you already have previous version of real player, it’s better for you to uninstall it first.
