gtk Record My Desktop, a front end for recordmydesktop for recording your desktop
RecordMyDesktop is a free and open source desktop screencast recorder that will enables you to record your destkop condition and save it into a video file. This software is free and open source and can be executed via command line interface. But since it was based on CLI, it’s unpractical and not as easy as other GUI based screencast software.
But thanksfully, a front end for recordMyDesktop is available. It’s gtk Recordmydesktop.
Use this commands to install gtkRecordmydesktop (eg on Ubuntu):
sudo apt-get install gtk-recordMyDesktop
After being installed, gtk-recordMyDesktop can be activated by clicking
Applications > Sound and Video > gtk-recordMyDesktop
CLick record button to start the recording, and click the icon on status bar to end the recording.
The video created will be automatically saved to .ogg file.
